Food storing tips while camping

You don’t go camping empty handed. You don’t plan to spend days in the wild thinking that you’ll hunt your food there and try surviving with what you can get. Although nature provides human being with food, scouting for it is not what most wants to do when they are camping. They go outdoors to have fun and enjoy the scenery that they can’t have in the city.

Food is an essential part of camping. It is one of the most important things you need in order to survive in the camp. It is not enough that your Coleman Camping Equipment Coolers is filled with food, you also have to follow certain guidelines in storing the food to avoid spoilage.

You have to keep in mind that each meal in the camp is something to look forward to. This is what makes it more sumptuous than the ordinary meals at home. But it can also turn into a nightmare if you don’t look after your food and you store it improperly. There are all sorts of creatures in the wild, if you don’t look after your supply, it might get in the wrong mouth.

Knowing the good strategies in storing your food will keep other creatures from your Coleman steel cooler. Human food is naturally attractive to animals in the wilderness. Its taste is overwhelming for them and once they tried it they will seek for more. To avoid all sorts of animals like squirrels and bears from going through your stuff, seeking for easy finds, avoid feeding them with one. It is okay to be friendly with small animals but don’t feed them with human food. If stray animals get a taste of what human foods taste like they would do extreme ways to find out where these foods are hidden and take them.

To avoid ferocious beasts from taking your Coleman Cooler, don’t leave human food anywhere especially when you are hiking. Beasts like bears are very clever and have very strong sense of smell. They will take the easiest way to fill their tummies. Don’t give them a hint by leaving food wrappers whose scent leads back to your camp. This is not only bad news for your food but for the safety of the rest of the campers as well. Keeping the campgrounds clean and clearing the food storage of any inviting scents for other creatures is a must.

Proper storage of food in campsites is very important. As much as possible, store your food along with other stainless steel cooler at about 100 to 200 feet away from where you sleep. Don’t leave any food in your bag. Unzip all the compartments so that if there are unwelcomed visitors, they will simply sniff the inside of each pack instead of shredding your gear to pieces.

If there are available metal containers with latches in the campground use them. Most of the campgrounds that have available food lockers have experienced, bear attacks in the past.

One thing each camper should remember though is that it is their responsibility to keep their Portable Coolers and food supply out of reach by unwelcome parasites. They are the visitors in the camp and the curiosity of most creatures can sometimes cause a lot of trouble especially in the long run.
