It’s finally here! The favourite
time of the year for those who adore the beach, those who crave
to get some tan and those who love going on picnics. Summer which
we all love is the perfect time to do some family bonding or spend
time with friends. One of the best ways to do it is through a trip
to the park and a picnic.
Although picnic is much less complicated
than camping trips or other family gatherings, it still requires
careful planning and preparation to make sure that it’s one
that you’ll have good memories of.
Here are some picnic tips you’ll
find helpful for your next picnic outing:
1. Choose a place you’ve never gone
picnicking to. Sure, you’ve gone to this park all your life
but it’s time for a change. Find a spot in a new park or by
the lake that will offer new scenery and new activities for your
family or friends. Just be sure that you pick a beautiful spot and
they’ll surely welcome the breath of fresh air.
2. Good food is the main ingredient of
a successful picnic outing. So be sure to prepare nice and delicious
snacks and meals for your picnic. It’s a good idea to opt
for foods that do not spoil quickly. That means a tomato dish may
be out of the question.
3. To preserve the freshness of the food,
keep hot foods hot and cold foods cold. Don’t eat food that
has been left sitting out for more than one hour especially if it’s
hot. This will save anyone from getting a tummy ache and from having
the wonderful picnic spoiled.
4. Place your food in a cooler like a coleman
cooler . Put those that will be eaten last in the bottom part
of the steel stand cooler.
5. Bring two coolers. You can use a stainless
steel cooler for the drinks and another ice cooler for the food.
6. Plan the meals and bring only sufficient
amount to avoid having leftovers and wasted food.
7. Put ice in between food containers,
not just on top of the pile. This way, the freshness of the food
will be preserved more evenly.
8. Transfer small but sufficient amounts
of condiments into smaller containers so you don’t have to
bring the big bottles of ketchup or hot sauce that will eat up space
in your pack.
9. Don’t forget to bring trash bags
for your trash. After you’re finished with the picnic, clean
up the spot and leave no trace. Be good examples to your kids or
to the other kids that are also picnicking there.
10. It’s recommended that you place
your stainless
steel cooler inside your car instead of in the trunk where it’s
much hotter. If you have no choice because there is no space, what
you can do is to cover it with a blanket. A picnic is a great way to unwind,
enjoy and spend time with people who matter most. With these simple
but helpful tips, you’ll have a memorable picnic outing that
will make you look forward to another.
