Before, travelling meant spur-of-the-moment
decisions to go on a roadtrip with your friends or last minute preparations
to fly in to another state. Spontaneity was the name of the game
and you just couldn’t care less than to do some reckless abandon
when it comes to travelling. It was very easy to let the wind decide
your fate. That made the trip more exciting and memorable. After
all, that’s what youth is all about.
But now that you’ve become a mature
adult responsible for little adorable kids, you can’t help
but reminisce on the time when travelling did not have to be so
strenuous. On the other hand, there is just no way to explain how
your happiness this time feels so permanent and not as fleeting
as when you were young.
Luckily there are a few tips you can follow
to make sure that you don’t stress yourself too much on your
travel and that you maintain your sanity all throughout the course
of the trip. Here are some of them:
1. Plan everything. Spontaneity is not
anymore the name of the game now that you have kids to take care
of. Schedule the trip and the places to visit around the time that
are most convenient for them, like after their regular naptime or
their lunch.
This will save you from having to drag
cranky and wailing kids into the historical museum that you’ve
been wanting them to see. Also, make sure that the places you visit
are kid-friendly. Research on them on the internet and ask recommendations
from your relatives and friends.
2. Create checklists for the things to
bring. This way you won’t forget your kid’s medications
or their favourite coleman
coolers. Arrange the checklist in such a way that you’ll
list things to pack together in the same category so that you won’t
have a hard time packing and checking their things. For instance,
list all the first aid kits and medicines together, and on another
list put all the necessary clothing and garments for your kids.
3. Carry distractions. Especially if you
have a long flight or a trip in the car, it’s imperative that
you carry interesting toys that will provide them with endless possible
activities to keep them entertained and occupied. If not, you’ll
have to stress yourself hearing their whining or the “are
we there yet?” question every five minutes or less.
4. Bring ample supply of food and drinks.
Kids get cranky when they get hungry. Unlike adults they have little
patience for that annoying grumbling that comes from their tummies
so your best bet is to bring sufficient supply of food on their
pack and load up their coleman
coolers with different drinks.
You can put in different kinds of snacks
on their pack so that they won’t easily get bored with one
type. You can also do the same with their drinks. For each thermos
stainless
steel cooler, you can put different drinks like water, apple
juice, orange juice and so on. Whatever it is they feel like drinking,
their stainless
steel cooler will provide just that.
These thermos stainless steel bottle coolers
are also excellent in keeping your kids from getting dehydrated.
5. Schedule a check-up with the paediatrician
before the trip. This will make sure that they are healthy and fit
enough for the travel.
6. Orient them on the places you’ll
visit so that they’ll be excited and won’t throw tantrums
when they get bored during the road trip or the flight.
Travelling with kids is indeed a
challenging but rewarding task. But no matter how hard it is, you
know that there’s nobody else you want to share the trip with
but with your adorable little ones.
