I know that most of the coleman coolers nowadays have been added with extra features to make their lifespan longer. It is great that Coleman have found ways to change average coolers and make them more durable. But I believe no matter how durable your things could be, proper care is still needed to make them last longer than the expected lifespan. There are lots of factors that could cause destruction to our possessions no matter how the manufacturer says they are not prone to such.

I have thought of simple practical ways to remind you of keeping them durable and long lasting. You might know them already but I believe it is good for them to be known. Below are five ways to take care of your coleman steel sidecooler.

1. As I have mentioned before, it is good that they are now stainless and rust-proof. But when not in use, make sure you are storing these coolers in places where you do not have corrosive substances inside. Do this mainly to avoid possible contact during spillage that could thin your stainless steel cooler protective covering. You do not know mainly the power of these corrosive substances, so make sure protect your stainless coolers very well. And different substances reactive differently with other substances.
2. After usage, clean them right away. Do not let those spillage last for more than hours. If they have been splattered with substances outside with solids being stuck with it as well, remove first the hardened food. Then use soap and water to remove the dirt. Do not use steel scrubs or other abrasives to remove hardened substances.
3. Before putting them inside their protective bags ready for storage, make sure they are dry. If you are such in a hurry, use clean cloth to wipe it out. Make sure the cloths that you will be using do not have debris that could cause be abrasive to the portable coolers.
4. In transporting them, use proper body mechanics. This way while handling them, you do not lose balance and risk letting go of your steel coolers. Dropping them hard may destroy them in the long run even if they are durable. But it will all depend on the force or pressure that hit them. Also if the outdoor coolers is heavy, ask help and make sure you are coordinated with your moves while walking. Do not drag them if you cannot carry them.
5. Secure the latches of your covering to avoid throwing out your drinks or food from the inside if in case you as the carrier stumble. This way you do not have to get all the way wobbly when you try to regain your balance in carrying the cooler.
6. It is also best to read the manufacturers precaution and instructions on how to keep their products long lasting. They have tested these materials and they know exactly what can destroy them. Simply follow their advices and this way, you will not end up voiding the warranty of your coolers.
