Have you ever experienced unpacking everything in order to find the toothbrush you are sure you packed? Or did you have a missing pair of sock only to find it in the other bag? Organizing is often overlooked when going on a camping trip. Most are too excited. They just pick whatever they get their hands on and hit the road. That truth is, it will make your life much easier in the wild if you have organized all your things.
Another common scenario when packing is bringing a lot of things and bringing less supply. Most of the Portable Coolers are empty even before the camping trip is over. While the bags is overflowed with things they won’t use.
To help you in your packing decisions, here are some tips for organizing your stuff when camping:
- Make a checklist for everyone. Provide checklist for all the members of the family, especially the kids. This will guide them what to bring and will help them pack only the necessary items. If you let your kids pack by themselves without a checklist, they tend to bring stuff not needed during the camp. They will bring items such as toys which is unimportant.
- Bring more than enough food supply. It is advised to bring two stainless
steel cooler. One for the beverages and another for your food. Bring a separate bag for the snacks. You can also put snack bags at the back of your car seats so that you kids can something to munch if they are hungry.
- All the family members’ personal belongings should be packed in one bag. One should be in charge with the entire family’s personal kits. It will be easier for everyone to find their toothbrushes, towels and soaps this way. This will also save space in their individual bags.
- Arrange the bags inside the car according to purpose. Organizing is not done right after you have closed all your bags. You should also arrange your bags and supply at the back of the truck orderly. Start with the stainless
steel water cooler. Place the one that contains the food below the one that contains the beverages during the trip. The kids will surely get thirsty while on the journey. Arranging it this way will make it easier for them to grab a drink. Pile the bags according to size and make sure that the tent and the rest of the camping gear can be easily unloaded when you arrive at the camp ground.
- Water proof important materials like matches maps and other things that might be damaged when in contact with water. It is also better if you bags are water resistant so that you won’t worry about your clothes when it rains.
A good camping experience starts with the organization of your things and supplies. Make sure that you have enough food and drinks in the camping coolers . Know where to look for the things you brought along the trip as well. And make sure that you only pack only the necessary things.
